Saunas of Syvänmaa

Kinnula, Finland Kinnula | Finland

In Kinnula, the soul of deepland, in the beautiful countryside of northern Central Finland, surrounded by lakes, you can take a sauna tour on Thu 6.6.2024 from 10 am to 6 pm in four different types of saunas with the same sauna ticket.

First sit on the benches in the old rectory’s sauna, which is warm for you from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. From the sauna you can take a dip in the Pappila River to cool off.

You can also buy a traditional sauna treatment and gentle herbal footbath for an extra fee.

In the immediate vicinity of the rectory is a smoke sauna, wonderfully immersed in the landscape, where you can relax your body on the benches and take a trip back in time to the Syvänmaa’s simple, rural life. You can enjoy the smoke sauna from 12 noon – 2pm. You can swim or follow a forest path from the rectory’s sauna to the smoke sauna.

From the smoke sauna you can take a boatride along the enchantingly winding Pappila River to the gentle hearth of the Niittyvilla’s traditional finnish sauna, where the stove is hot from 1pm to 4pm. You can buy campfire coffee and sausages from Justiina’s kiosk. If you wish, you can also rent a SUP board from the rectory and paddle at your own pace, enjoying the lush lake scenery.

From Niittyvilla Sauna you can cycle a couple of kilometres to the Karkausmäki Guesthouse’s Nature Spa, which welcomes you from 3pm to 6pm. You can treat yourself with a peat sauna or natural herb footbaths for an additional price. Car transport to Karkausmäki Guesthouse can also be arranged if requested.

If you wish, you can also transfer from one sauna to another in your own car.
